january sun

there is something different about the january sun. it sits higher in the sky, illuminating a more vast span of earth. secrets cannot be hidden underneath the shade of tree leaves or behind bushes, instead everything is laid bare alongside stark, pointed branches. the snow refracts light like a diamond, with edges as sharp.
i started a creative writing class, & the professor asked us to describe snow using our five senses. all i felt was cold. all i feel is a desire for change, for the snow to melt, buds to return and warmth to settle. i thrive on change and newness, and in turn often forget to live in the moment. to relish in the beauty of the here and now. so fashion-friends, let's take each season of life as it comes, make the most of it, and dress fabulously no matter the circumstances. oscar wilde said, "you can never be overdressed or over-educated." always be awake to the fast-paced life around you before it passes you by.
